Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery Donates $1,500 to 26.2 With Donna The National Marathon To Finish Breast Cancer Foundation

Ponte Vedra, Florida, April 19, 2012 – Staff members of Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery proudly presented a check to Donna Deegan on April 18, 2012 to support her foundation dedicated to ending breast cancer. It was a dark day for the team of Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery when they discovered one of their own was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was Thanksgiving 2011 when Shelly, a long-time receptionist for the plastic surgery center, reached out to her co-workers to inform them she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She knew she had a long journey ahead of her – but she’d soon find out she wasn’t alone. When Shelly was diagnosed, the entire staff at Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery felt the urge to do something to help. Are Silicone Breast Implants Safe Again?

Breast surgery is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures available in today’s world. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons National Clearinghouse of Plastic Surgery Procedural Statistics, there were 296,203 breast augmentations and an additional 93,083 breast reconstruction procedures completed in the United States in 2010. Of these procedures, approximately half used silicone gel-filled implants.
